Purpose and Scope:
The Export Coordinator is responsible for obtaining necessary information in order to expedite bookings, collections, packing, transport and ultimate shipment at final destination for customers.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
• Research available modes of transport and shipping options including obtaining rates from suppliers and assessing the suitability of rates for customers.
• Present customers with choice of options available and organize bookings, collection, packing, transport, and documentation as necessary.
• Advise customers of the status of their shipments
• Ensure that shipments and documentation are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Produce accurate and timely necessary documentation to fulfill transport and export requirements for the ultimate clearance of the shipment at the final destination.
• Follow up on all verbal and written customer requests for rates or other information within 24 hours.
• Ensure outgoing billing is completed within 72 hours from the receipt of the shipment bill of lading from the carrier. • Maintain accurate records and files of all shipments.
• Produce reports as may be required for management.
• Stay abreast of market conditions and changes in both shipping and commodity markets.
• Perform other duties as assigned including back-up for other employees. Competencies:

Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years Logistics experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
